TUANKU SULTAN JOHOR BRINGS CHEER TO NEEDY FAMILIES IN MUKIM PLENTONG
Some 330 needy families in Mukim Plentong were all smiles today (10 Aug) on receiving much needed food aid from HM Tuanku Sultan Johor.
The distribution of the aid was coordinated by the Church of St Joseph led by Fr Moses Yap. On hand to give out the food boxes was Mejar Cina Dato’ David Wong, representing the Sultan Ibrahim Johor Foundation (SIJF). Also present was Mukim Plentong chief, Mohd. Nurul Faiz Aman.
The food boxes, comprising basic household provisions and packets of instant noodles, were later given out to the grateful recipients, many of whom have been hard hit by the protracted pandemic and desperately in need of a life line and assistance.
Fr. Moses, whose church had reached out to SIJF on behalf of the local villagers, expressed his indebtedness and gratitude to HM Tuanku Sultan Johor for his kindness and benevolence towards his subjects during these desperate times.
“All during this difficult period of the raging pandemic, we have been trying to help as many people as possible irrespective or race or religion. Today’s gracious contributions by Tuanku Sultan will go a long way towards alleviating the hardships being endured by these families, many of whom are in dire need now,” he said to the Royal Press Office (RPO).
One of the beneficiaries of the aid, Joanis Anak Inggang, 50, who lost his job as a factory worker last May, thanked His Majesty for the generous donation.
“I have four young kids to feed…I cannot find any jobs. I am truly touched and extremely thankful to Tuanku Sultan,” he said.
The Mukim chief, Mohd Nurul Faiz Aman said the food aid had come when many families were desperately in need.
“Many have lost jobs and have no income and can’t even put food on their table for their families. We deeply appreciate His Majesty’s kindness. We’re so blessed to have a Ruler who truly cares for his subjects,” he stated.
